I realised this is a keypiece when I observed the way people handle it. It is one of my first attempts to turn the Metallised Folding Textile I developed into a wearable object. Seeing it being admired by an audience that could not help but mishandle it when they tried it on made me realise that I need to take the wearers’ handling of these pieces into account. It made me discover the next step I have to take to improve the work: I need to find ways of making it less fragile so that it becomes more user-friendly.
