I would not say that I have “made” KeyPieces, they “happened” to me. One piece still feels like a discovery without being able to identify the novelty. The other sums up and simplifies what otherwise appears too complex. Both KeyPieces mark moments of transition, the sight of a place to depart from or the indication that a body of work is complete.

Over time KeyPieces seem to negotiate their significance while I am shifting my artistic position. And once, a critic identified a KeyPiece before I did… again, this happened to me. A KeyPiece always has questions attached to it.

Online exhibition: On focus are two pieces of work Christoph Zellweger claimed to be KeyPieces in 1995.
