Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)
KTPs help businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the university. You as a business get a full time, recently qualified graduate (an 'Associate', recruited specifically to work with you)) to undertake a defined project, plus a senior academic for half a day a week to work with the Associate and your business.
Part-funded by the government, projects can be for any length from 10 weeks to three years. Businesses and organisations of all sizes in most industries and commercial sectors can take part. Typical examples include
- developing new products
- streamlining a manufacturing process
- systems development
- using new media to develop your company
- developing strategic management or communications systems
