Presentation - Adobe CS5 Design without Boundaries
The Training Foundry hosted an event presented by Steve Burnard, business development manager at Adobe, to representatives from over 70 schools, colleges, universities and businesses in the area on the new features of CS5.
Dave Rotherham from the Training Foundry said, 'The event went really well. As an added bonus, all attendees' details were put into a prize draw, and one of our customers won Adobe’s CS5 software.'
As recently reported in the press, The Training Foundry secured £25,000 through the Economic Challenge Investment Fund to assist in improving redundant people's skills and help them get back into work. After taking part in the scheme, one customer was successful in getting a job in web design at UFI.
'After having been unemployed for a considerable period I heard about the ECIF scheme through a Higher Futures careers adviser at Sheffield Hallam University,' he explained. 'The scheme provided most of the finance for a number of IT courses.
'The theoretical concepts and practical skills I obtained from the Dreamweaver Level 4 - PHP and MySQL Web Application Development, alongside my additional IT courses, helped me to secure a new job. I would like to thank all the staff and lecturers at the Training Foundry for their help and assistance.'
Training Foundry chosen to test new Beta exams
In June, The Training Foundry was one of ten centres in the UK to be chosen to trial the new Microsoft Beta 2010 exams.
We invited customers past and present to be tested on Excel and Word 2010 in order that Microsoft could set the pass mark for the new certification. As well as helping to trial the exams, 20 of our candidates achieved their Microsoft Official Specialist certification.
